Sounds like it's supposed to be sized for a website. Is there an ideal pixel size for the main image (knowing there may be thumbnails made)? Filesize restrictions? The possibility of Flash enhancements?
Creative BRIEF
Inspirational Jewelry by Diana Warner Studio
Graphic design
$1000
If you can include the jewelry in the design, great.
If not, that's OK too.
The objective is to graphically represent the positive messages behind the jewelry of Diana Warner Studio. Specifically, we are looking to promote:
The Ocean necklace, which encourages women to be move beyond their comfort zone and live in the ocean, not the pool.
The Obligato necklace, which encourages us to give back to the needy.
You can create work for either of the two pieces and submit as many graphics as you like.
Obligato...
Two hand hammered gold and silver ovals dangle from a delicate sterling silver chain, and the circular shape reminds the wearer that this is a gift that truly gives back.
The name "Obligato" is Portuguese for "something that one cannot live without." Water is something that we cannot live without. Each necklace provides 10 Africans with clean water for a year, so the wearer not only has a beautiful piece of jewelry, but they also have the knowledge that they improved and touched the life of 10 people in South Africa.
Due to Obligato necklace sales, Diana Warner has been able to build a well in South Africa! For more information on the 1000 Wells Project visit: bloodwatermission.org/1000well...
Ocean
The "Ocean" necklace reminds us to live in the ocean of life and not the pool of life. Though the ocean is more dangerous, it is also more vast, more beautiful, and more adventurous. Hand hammered in 18kt plate or sterling, this beautiful piece of abalone shell hangs on a 18 inch chain and is accompanied by a beautiful gold disc one side hammered with texture.
Initially, our plan was to use the submitted graphics in an online marketing campaign: on our website and in emails to our 500+ boutiques who carry our merchandise, etc... We've never done this before, however, and we're open to anything. If possible, we would love to also use some of the art in our product packaging, brochures, or really anything creative!
UPDATE: From the looks of the first few graphics submitted, it seems that we weren't clear in what we're looking for. Flex your creative muscle and design ART that's different to the graphics we supplied on the flickr site. For example, play around in photoshop and see if you can get a pool to transition into an ocean. Show us something to blow our minds!
Images of the jewelry are posted at the
flickr site We'll be adding more shortly.
If you'd like to buy a piece at wholesale price and have the ability to to take additional photos, please contact dianawarner(at)gmail.com

Houston, We have a Question...
Q&A for this creative brief
Sounds like it's supposed to be sized for a website. Is there an ideal pixel size for the main image (knowing there may be thumbnails made)? Filesize restrictions? The possibility of Flash enhancements?
I just wonder wheter awards will be delivered even if you decide not to move forward with any of the artwork or not? Or it is just a free pitching in the name of competition, just like the other contest?
I have my creation at my profile in Flickr how can i send to yours?
So the DW Logo I see on Flickr is the official logo u guys are working with?
Is it possible for the answer to the "Submit" question to be posted here?
You ONLY submit to Flickr, as stated in the "Guidelines".
Thanks
Is it possible for us to get LARGE pictures of JUST the necklaces, not being worn by people? i thought it might be good to incorporate the acctually necklace into my graphic...
What was the answer to the size question?
Also, if the client likes an idea, but would want it edited a bit, is there protection for the artists here to prevent the idea from being stolen and developed by someone else for the client? (the lack of response to the "is this real" question is unnerving as a newbie here).
Don't worry about size, there are MANY possibilities as to what this will be used for so the size will need to be adjusted based upon what graphic is chosen for what project. We connect the creator to the client, so yes you are protected in that the client does not get the "work" until the creator sends it to them (which can be done after payment).
is there an email address to submit our completed projects to?
i havent done this before...are the photos on flickr free for us to use on creating the ad?
Thank you for your response.
So, if you connect us with the client, am I correct in thinking that it is the concept that is most important as minor edits would be possible?
No email, just add to flickr. You may use the photos uploaded by GeniusRocket, not the photos uploaded by other users. The concept IS the most important part.
Thanks!
anyone know how i upload my submission on flickr?
anyone know how i upload my submission on flickr? I dont see where I do that
For the quick response Drew!
Create Flickr account and/or log into Flickr, Once you have an account it will ask you if you want to upload any pictures. Upload your graphic design.
After it's loaded onto your account, join the Diana Warner Studio group.
Next go to 'Organize', then click 'Groups', drag your uploaded graphic design and drop it into the Diana Warner Studio.
I hope that helps. :)
will we need to create an account on Flickr's site to submit our entry?
See the response right above your question, it answers specifically what you asked.
Thanks
I was under the impression that the brief is requesting a graphic more along the logo side rather than a piece of marketing collateral. Most of the submissions look like full advertisements (even those submitted after the Marketing Objective update). Is the objective a fully composed layout or more along the lines of a graphical piece of art that could be added to a marketing piece? Thanks for your help!
Are you going to list the winners of the contest on your home page
Once selections are made we will detail them in our Blog.
Thanks!
Hello, but where is the blog we do to to see the winners? On Flickr or Genius Rocket. I dont know where to look for the winners. Thank you, Maggie
Hello, but where is the blog we do to to see the winners? On Flickr or Genius Rocket?
I dont know where to look for the winners. Thank you, Maggie
The blog is on GeniusRocket, and will show up in the top right-hand corner of the homepage, and in the right column of most pages on our site.
On the Diana Warner site, the section of News & Events, the entire month of June until mid-July seems rather busy. She has several trunk shows and a bridal selection launch. Not to mention her offices were closed from June 3rd through the 6th.
I hope this explains the delay to all the eager contestants (as well as myself). Right now it seems unclear but all I know is she's preoccupied.
But keep your fingers crossed and good luck!
Her schedule is a major reason for the delay, much of it is also that the clients are allowed time to make their decisions (and many of the questions about the selection began the day the RFB ended.) Going forward we are going to try and keep the selection process to two weeks, but that will depend much on the client's schedule and the number of submissions. (There were MANY submissions to this RFB).
Thanks!
You'll need to log in to ask it.
