New Leaders Council strengthens the progressive movement by identifying and recruiting new progressive leaders. NLC provides these emerging leaders with training, mentoring, networking, and job placement opportunities that equip them to be civic leaders, not only for elective office, but also in their communities and workplaces. Recognizing that a truly progressive movement is inclusive and empowering, NLC makes a special effort to recruit people from outside the usual power structures. NLC is shaping America’s future by developing tomorrow’s leaders today.

Company/Brand/Product Background:
  • NLC is a progressive nonprofit.
  • Our brand should connote strong, entrepreneurial, and diverse men and women, ages 22 to 35.
  • Our brand should connote strong ties to the leaders of today.
Marketing Objectives:
  • Planned Usage A: To be utilized on our homepage to give a general introduction to the organization to visitors of the site.
  • Planned Usage B: To be spread virally across the internet to give a general introduction to the organization and encourage viewers to visit our site.
  • Brand Positioning: The organization's members are exceptional leaders; a cut above the rest, but modest about it; doers, not talkers.
  • Demographic target: Both tomorrow's leaders and today's, especially today's.
  • Campaign Context: Viewers should come away with the solid, but not overwhelming, conclusion that NLC is a growing community that's training progressive leaders. Leaders who will have the big ideas in politics, civics, and business in the near future.

The mainpage says the due date "1/14/08" ...am I not calculating this out right, or do this page say the due date is 1/13/08 (9:00 pm for me)?
(I'm out of town and I need to gauge the exact date.)

Deadlines

Deadlines are all EST, and are always midnight. There is an issue due to Daylight Savings Time that has the due date showing the 14th (since we have to set deadlines temporarily at 1am to have the countdown clock accurate). Submissions are due the 13th at midnight.

Deadline Extension!

We've extended the deadline a week, to Sunday 20 January at 11:59 p.m. EST, because we're seeing great stuff and don't want cut-off times to keep people from submitting good stuff.

Just walked in the door from out of town... I shouldn't have trusted the expiration date on the main page (the 13th, NOT the 14th) (btw. I'm west coast). Anyway, thanks for extending the deadline again NLC (you won't be disappointed with my entry!) and thanks Drew for the clarification.
